Caseificio PdF

Project Description

PDF Cheese Factory is located at the Porta di Ferro.

The structure of “PdF Cheese Factory” embellishes the Court on which it overlooks. A gathering place that develops in three environments, once dedicated to rural work, today spaces of conviviality and tasting. The choice of a conservative restoration has helped to preserve its historical memory through the valorisation of the existing historical and artistic elements such as the stone tiling, the wooden beam ceilings, and the old masonry oven.

“Immersed in a fertile plain between the Amalfi coast and the Cilento, a few kilometers from Salerno, Paestum and Agropoli, Tenuta Porta di Ferro covers an area of about 80 hectares and includes the old manor house, still inhabited, a modern farm specialized in the production of peaches and kiwis, and a vast, centuries-old park, part of the Grandi Giardini Italiani circuit.

An old property of the Doria D’Angri family, it was bought in the early 1900s by the Pastor Family of which the current owners are direct heirs. At that time the residence was a place of receptions of the Neapolitan high nobility and hosted galas, dinners and small concerts. It was only the beginning of the deep link between gastronomy and arts, a bond that was then strengthened over the years with careful choices of excellence and quality.

Revealing the authoritative family relations, the memorial plaque on the Grimalda Tower façade, is in memory of the Prince of Savoy’s visit in 1932, with which Renato Pastore personally maintained relations for the selection of Persano horses from the private farm of the estate.

In the noble attempt to stop the time and share the atmosphere of a unique place, the owners have chosen to revive the spirit of hospitality, since 2002, creating a location for quality events, in an historical atmosphere. ”
